EPISODE 45: How To Get Over Your Fear of Getting The Pay That You Deserve

It’s time to look beyond the misconception that the price of your services or your products have to do with your value as a person or a being.

This week’s episode focuses on what’s keeping people from setting a rate/fee for their service or setting a price for their product that they deserve and how they can work to break it.

Key takeaways:

  • The common misconception is that the price of a service or product has to do with the value of the person offering it. Yet the truth is, the worth of a human being is completely irrelevant and autonomous to what he/she charges.
  • You are the universe. There’s no way to put a value on you.
  • When setting your rates, set them according to the market, and not according to your insecurities. Not even your ego.
  • Your worth as a human being has nothing to do with what you charge at all. From that standpoint, you can charge what you’d like to charge, and of course, live with the value.
  • A quick exercise to help you get over your hesitation in setting a rate that you deserve: Double the value of your actual rate, then double it again. Say that final value to yourself several times and declare that value when asked. Allow your mind to get comfortable with that rate. So when you make an increase from your original rate, however slight, it will be an action that will not surprise you.

EPISODE 43: Actual Results vs Perceived Results: How To Manage Them To Improve Your Business

Are you and your business visible online? And if you are, are you making the most of the various platforms to direct more clients your way? And it’s not just that. Presence and visibility needs to be supported by the actual results of your work. How do you work on those two at the same time?

This episode tackles two leadership domains that you need to manage well: one is the Actual Results you achieve when serving your clients and the other is Perceived Results, which is how you are perceived by others. Listen in and start reinforcing your business’ strengths.

Key takeaways:

  • In managing your business, oftentimes, the focus is placed on getting or providing actual results (Actual Results). Yet to further improve your business, you should also consider your visibility in the industry (Perceived Results) which can create potential additional business for you.
  • Find out if you are being referred around and how often. Referrals are indicators of how others value the work you do and how useful you can be for others.
  • Engage with people as you work on delivering actual results and request testimonials from people who have been satisfied with your work. At any rate, most people who have experienced high satisfaction with your business will volunteer to provide testimonials for you. This supports your work by establishing your image and your business.
  • Learn from Tony Robbins. His visibility online (Perceived Results) are very high, therefore, if nobody knows him they can look him up online as he already exists as a high profile person.
  • If somebody’s never heard of you, increase and improve your online presence: work on increasing the number of your Twitter followers, Facebook followers/fans, number of Facebook likes, number of guest appearances on podcasts, providing free online content. All those things add up to being higher perceived results.

EPISODE 42: How Do You Pave The Way as The Leader of Your Business and Your People?

This episode is recorded from one of my talks on leadership. Leaders are meant to pave the way for the rest. As a CEO, that is your ultimate task. Both the brunt and rewards of your company’s performance are on your shoulders. How do you then clear the path and set the stage for your business and for your people?

Here’s a quick view on some of what’s discussed in this episode: The better way of taking responsibility, increase your profitability by increasing your confidence, find out my simple rule on how you can move your business forward through making a request/promise, why you should increase your empathy for yourself, why you should think weirder, not bigger. And why you should stop wasting time working on your weaknesses. (This is crazy, I know, but it works.) I hope this episode helps you out in affirming the leader within you.

Key takeaways:

  • You want to find more business opportunities? Think weirder.
  • Reconsider the things that don’t make sense. Just because it didn’t make sense in the past doesn’t mean they don’t make sense now to the future.
  • You’ve been told to go make your weaknesses stronger.
  • Challenge that and instead, get weaker in them. Get even crappier at what your weaknesses are. Just be don’t just be shit in, be absolute shit in it.
  • Identify what those weaknesses are and then identify your core strengths. And then every bit of energy that you have been spending trying to get better with your weaknesses? Give it up. Take that energy and put it towards your strengths and become exceptional in those.
  • Bring more empathy to you first, and ultimately, you’ll build a gentle company with a culture of kindness and connection a.k.a. love.
  • The number one component in sales is love. It transcends all the techniques. So why not build companies that are built on a foundation of love? The whole universe is based on love.

EPISODE 41: How to Establish Clarity Within You and With Your Message

As a leader, clarity is crucial to getting your message across and getting things done. Yet what if you are not getting any clarity within you and what you want in life, at all?

Check out the steps on how you can figure out and get clear on what’s clouding things for you.

Key takeaways:

  • Clarity is an act of omission. Too much information can overwhelm so if you’re trying to get your message clearer, say less.
  • If you are feeling unclear in yourself usually the driver of that is fear because when you’re clear then you are naturally inspired. And so as leaders, clarity creates inspiration naturally.
  • Make your choices from opportunity.
  • Imagine and consider the worst-case scenarios that will result from your choices and you will realize that your so-called fears are false evidence appearing real.
  • Oftentimes, people think that when there’s a lack of clarity you need to say, do and add more to the equation when actually you need to remove things. You need to take things out.

EPISODE 40: How Can High Performing Entrepreneurs and Leaders Effectively Manage Their Fears?

This week’s episode focuses on managing your fear. You may hear me talk about something seemingly basic yet what you may not know, is how you can make the most of this to redefine your relationship with your fear.

Getting real with this fundamental practice has helped me face my fears. And if you’ve been following me for some time now, you’d know that somehow, I’ve always managed to plant myself in crazy situations where I am face to face with what I fear most!

Key takeaways:

  • Leaders have been led to believe that they are scared of failure when the truth is, leaders are often scared of success. The most important tool as a leader is to is to be with your breath.
  • Take a breath at that moment of fear to calm your brain. Breathing helps it settle down and adjusts your neurology into letting the rest of you know that you are safe. Safe to be yourself and safe to action on what you are supposed to do.
  • When nothing is being said, we think we need to fill the gap with words. When it is oftentimes in silence that a message becomes more powerful.
  • If Public Speaking is a challenge to you, try the Three Second Rule where you spend 3 seconds making eye contact with one person as you breathe and then move on to the next person and so on. It’s like having a one on one conversation as opposed to the reality of being in a roomful of people which can usually intimidate and overwhelm a speaker.
  • Breathing is most helpful in chaotic situations where the shock of an event often leaves you frozen and unmoving. Follow the rule of chaos where you intentionally take four breaths, and it will help you unfreeze and resume mobility.

EPISODE 39: How Leaders Find Their Perfect Customer

Getting in depth with your customers’ definition is one of the critical characteristics of highly successful business leaders.

In this episode, let me share with you some of the questions I have asked myself that helped me get clear on who my perfect customer is.

Key takeaways:

  • When you’re finding yourself having to educate your customers, you’re probably with the wrong avatar…a wrong person to serve.
  • It is every Leader and CEO’s responsibility to know who their businesses are serving. Getting in depth with your customers’ definition is one of the key characteristics of highly successful business leaders.
  • The people who make your heart feel lightest and you feel good connecting with will give you a clue on who your customers are. The ones that you feel like it’s a lot of work? They’re probably not your customers.
  • Oftentimes, how we earn and spend our money represent our values. To find out your perfect customers and consumers, recognise the values behind their earning and spending habits, and determine if you can speak to those values. It helps if your values drive business decision making.
  • Your perfect customer is usually you.

EPISODE 38: How Legacy Best Defines a Great Leadership

This week’s guest is Dov Baron, the man with a finger on the pulse of the evolving world of NextGen leadership. He has been speaking internationally for over 30 years, is one of Inc. Magazine’s Top 100 Leadership Speakers to hire, and is considered by many as the leading authority on Authentic Leadership. Dov is also a bestselling author of several books. His latest book is Fiercely Loyal; How High Performing Companies Develop and Retain Top Talent. He also writes for and has been featured in many industry magazines including being featured on CNN, CBS Small Business Pulse, SHRM, Yahoo Finance, Boston Globe, Business in Vancouver, USA today, CEO, Entrepreneur and many more.

This episode tackles the importance of building your legacy and how its lasting impact defines great leadership; Why women used to be considered ineffective leaders (of course now we know it’s far from the truth); How Leadership is evolving; And a quite provoking point (I suggest you listen in before this freak you out) — Find out why Dov considers Nelson Mandela a failed leader. This will hit home once you realized why. Plus, a bonus: Dov shares an exercise on building a legacy which he does with clients that will confront the way you see yourself and the way you would want others to see you.

I apologize if the audio for this episode is kinda whacked. We had some audio issue during the recording, but I thought I’d go ahead and have this gold released rather than not. It’s too good not to share.

Key takeaways:

  • Within each of us inherently lies a deep greatness. This greatness is the wholeness in us. The original premise of being a human being. We spend our lives thinking that something we can have or do will complete us when we have been complete all along.
  • There’s nothing to add but everything to take away.
  • The leadership of today is evolving into a non-egoic leadership. It is a leadership that is soulful, collaborative and inclusive.
  • Individuals of working organizations are no longer willing to be led by dictatorial leaders anymore.
  • With all the war talks emerging, we see a reaction to the universal concept of polarity or extremes. At the moment, there is a natural tendency to find a middle ground to avoid swimming from one side to the other. Polarity makes us confront the things that we have been neglectful and complacent.
  • Most multi-generational family business fail as result of losing the connection with the original intention of what the business was.
  • There’s no succession plan beyond the financial intention when they should have created a Values and Purpose Driven succession plans.
  • We create a lasting and impactful legacy when learn to transcend the personality and the way we do that is to become empowered with our service.

EPISODE 37: Why It’s Okay to Stop Achieving for Something

At various points in our lives, we’ve all set up our own yardstick for achievement and success. Yet the funny thing of it all is that we feel the need to achieve for something when we are already inherently able to do that just by existing and listening to our soul’s calling.

Today’s episode tackles challenging concepts about what achievement truly is.

Key takeaways:

  • Know your own definition of what achievement actually is because its mainstream definition misleads you into a false sense of fulfillment.
  • Once you’ve reconsidered what achievement actually is, go far beyond it and you’ll discover that you’ve always been there in the first place.
  • The only way to go back to what you want is to realize that what you thought you wanted isn’t what you want all along.
  • Consider to going back to what you want from a soul level and do what makes your soul sing. Know that no matter what this level of success brings you, you’re not going to feel any different than the way you feel right now.
  • Oftentimes, the drive towards achievement stems from a personal sense of insignificance. Yet what if you were already totally significant and completely insignificant at the same time? If you consider that possibility, then you will no longer be driven to succeed from trying to get anywhere from where you actually are. You are where you’re always meant to be, and achievement no longer becomes a measurement of your significance.

EPISODE 36: How to Connect with Your Emotions to Achieve Your Vision

Most leaders can agree that you have to have a vision but not all leaders approach it the same way. The old leadership style is devoid of emotions yet what if actually getting connected to your emotions is the key to achieving your vision? This episode deals with how you can connect with your emotions in order for you to get to your goal.

Key takeaways:

  • As leaders, we need to emotionalize our vision, which means we need to get in touch with our own emotions and then we can spark the emotions of others.
  • We are better coaches when we feel.
  • A vision without emotion doesn’t happen.
  • Leaders and high performing entrepreneurs treat the vision in their head and in their heart as if it is already achieved and they resonate with that frequency.
  • We are more afraid of getting the vision that we want than actually failing at our vision.
